ABOUT MANSSOOR HUSSAIN LAGHARI
Mansoor Hussain Laghari is a human rights advocate, U.S. Army veteran, filmmaker, and public intellectual focused on confronting extremism, defending minority rights, and advancing interfaith coexistence through storytelling and civic action.
Born into a political family in Sindh, Pakistan, Mansoor is the son of Ghulam Mohammad Laghari, (Comrade) a freedom fighter and civil rights leader who spent decades in prison opposing dictatorship, religious extremism, and feudal oppression. Growing up in the shadow of political persecution, censorship, and violence shaped Mansoor’s lifelong commitment to justice, free expression, and the dignity of marginalized communities.
After immigrating to the United States, Mansoor served in the U.S. Army, where he gained firsthand experience in leadership, conflict, and the global consequences of ideological radicalization. He later worked in corrections and public service, deepening his understanding of crime, rehabilitation, and the human cost of extremist ideology.
Mansoor is the founder of Nabisar Films, a global storytelling company dedicated to producing films and media that challenge authoritarianism, religious extremism, antisemitism, and social injustice. His flagship feature project, Path of Liberation, is based on his father’s true life story and explores the fight for democracy, religious tolerance, and human dignity in South Asia and beyond.
He is also the founder of the Global Muslim Jewish Youth Unity Project, an interfaith initiative that brings together young people from Muslim and Jewish communities to counter radicalization, promote mutual understanding, and build a future rooted in truth, empathy, and coexistence.
Through writing, film, advocacy, and international collaboration, Mansoor works to expose the ideological networks behind global extremism and to amplify the voices of those silenced by hate, tyranny, and propaganda.
His work bridges activism and storytelling, combining lived experience, historical truth, and modern media to confront one of the defining challenges of our time: the global struggle between freedom and extremism.
